Frankenstein 8
19 November 2022, 19:00 – 23:00

CASELLI 11–12 hosts the launch of Frankenstein Magazine’s eight issue, the biggest to date, counting thirty contributors and 240+ pages. Born in 2019 as an independent zine, Frankenstein has established itself as one of the most ingeniously experimental publications in the realm of figurative arts, creative writing and comics – while upholding, since then, a remarkable thematic and aesthetic heterogeneity.

Collezione Ramo aims to document, preserve and promote works on paper throughout the history of modern and contemporary Italian art. Rooted in drawing, its 700-piece collection encompasses media as diverse as watercolor, collage and pastel, as well as three-dimensional works. Linking a selection of 20th-century masterpieces to the work of today’s artists, Milano Drawing Week began in 2021 as a joint project between the collection and Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, curator at Collezione Ramo.

This year’s edition explores the practice of drawing across twelve exhibitions, enlivening the discussion within and beyond the medium through a collaborative relationship with the Milanese gallery network. Mino Luchena is a tattoo artist and DJ from Pesaro. Besides being an avid collector of Italian vinyls from the 60s and 70s, he is a dancer and supporter of Gabber Eleganza, a venture into the sounds and visions of Hardcore Continuum, post-rave, and the contemporary underground.
